How is everybody? I just wanted to update my site and give you some good vibes and good music to tune into.
Life is dynamic and constantly evolving. I am grateful for all the peace, love, and abundance in my life right now and I have the joy of being a teacher, so summer vacation is on!
I am in the process of remembering who I am as a singer/songwriter and performer – YAY! So please reach out, if you would like to book me – in a good old-fashioned venue or your back yard. (Here’s to lots of singing LIVE in 2022!!)
I have new songs and old songs and lots of love and inspiration to share, so tune in and let me know if you would like to experience me in the flesh in your yoga class or sacred/healing event.I am about to go back in to studio and record some new songs. I can’t wait!
In the meantime, Have you listened to 12 Rebirth lately? It’s a perfect record for right now.
Follow me Spotify and Instagram to be the first to know about the new music!
In the meantime, why not enjoy one of my most popular songs: I am the Ocean.
It was a glorious weekend of weather on Cape Cod and like so many of us I am moving through many transitions and awakenings.
It’s funny to say that in a way because I have been consciously on a spiritual awakening path since 2005. As we know though, it never really ends, does it? And these last 18 months have helped bring a lot more to the surface – individually and collectively.
Two years ago I released 12 Rebirth to honor my healing and creative journey and if you have not listened to it yet, I highly recommend it. Want to sink into a feeling of Authentic Joy and longing? Try Moments of Bliss. Want to feel supported as you face a new big change? Try Walk You Way On Through. Want to get in the mood for a much more open and happy summer by the sea? Try I am the Ocean
This summer I turn 50 and although I can feel how much growth I have had over the last decade, I am still learning how to love, lose, love again, prioritize my own well-being, realize my full creative potential, and serve others at the highest vibration. In some ways, I have made so much progress and in others I still feel stuck in patterns that just don’t seem to want to shift. Can you relate?
What I know is that everything is easier when I keep my heart open. This is my practice going forward. Self-compassion. And compassion for all other beings that choose to receive.
I still remember my mom saying to me in the last few months of her life with such wisdom and awareness, “Just keep opening your heart”. I am still working on it mom and even though you haven’t been in physical form for the past 14 years, I know your Spirit has been with me and many others this whole time.
May I be at Peace, May my heart remain open, May I awaken to the Light of my own true nature, May I be healed, May I be a Source of healing for all beings.
Tomorrow is the official holiday in the Unites States honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. I have so many mixed feelings and not many words that feel necessary. I usually share the song I wrote in the summer of 2016 called Freedom is an Inside Job at this time.
It feels more right though to share this classic from Sam Cooke originally released in 1964.
Some songs feel sacred to me. This is one of them.
May sacred songs of love and truth and justice and peace and unity rise up for all of us as we continue to walk forward imagining a better future.
Madam Vice President Kamala Harris, thank you for being you.
May the Light of all Lights be upon you and all those you serve.
This time of year I usually share my song Be The Light. I love this song and this recording and the video I made in 2019. During this time of the shortest day here in North America, the idea of Being the Light really resonates for me. Many cultures have rituals this time of year that remind us of Light even in dark times – whether literal or figurative.
This year, however, I am hearing a new message: Be You.
And in Being You, we become a better Us.
How is this different from Be the Light? For me, it is the practice of holding the paradox. What if the amount of so-called darkness and light is exactly as it should be. What if no one or even the world needs me to “be the light?” What if what we all need and what the world needs is for each of us to take time to really KNOW ourselves and then practice being That with courage, clarity, love and joy.
What if we all spent less time trying to convince others of how they should be and really got to know ourselves on a deeper level. Through this we become more open to receiving new people in our lives that also know themselves more deeply and we open to co-creating NEW experiences, NEW systems, NEW villages and NEW moments that feel authentic, life-giving, inclusive and harmonious.
These are some of the things I have been thinking about as 2020 comes to a close. I will be chanting on Sunday (tomorrow) Dec 20, 2020 at 5pm on Zoom. I would love for you to join me.
EMAIL me here if you would like the Zoom information. You can also make a donation of $10-20 through PayPal or Venmo and I will send you the link.
My prayer for myself and for all of us is that we take the time and have the courage to go deep deep inside right now allowing ourselves to know (yet again) who we truly are and how we may best share that vibration with others.
If you, like me, are feeling something new coming but not quite sure what it is, while also grieving for a sense of things lost – whether named or not, know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
All is Well.
I have lots of music that can support you, wherever you are on your journey. Walk your Way on Through from 12 Rebirth is always a favorite for times of transition.

It has been a powerful 6 months on planet earth and in the United States of America. very painful for many and also incredibly awakening for us all.
I am excited to be singing this Sunday at 1pm in my home village next to this beautiful mural recently commissioned to be painted on a local barn. (right across the street from Sturgis Library). It was painted by Joe Diggs and Jackie Reeves.
I remember growing up in Barnstable Village and going to Barnstable High School from 1984-1988 and knowing something was very wrong. I could tell how I got special treatment because I was a “good kid”. A good kid because my Dad was a doctor and I had white skin with blond hair. I watched as other students who were black or didn’t have a mom always on the PTA got treated differently. I didn’t have the language to talk about it – and not many adults did either – but I could feel it and it didn’t feel good.
That is why I wanted to get off Cape Cod as quickly as possible. I could tell I was different somehow (even though I had not yet come out as a lesbian) and wanted to find people who felt different like me and were working for equality and inclusion.
I have journeyed to lots of places in this world – 12 years in Brooklyn, NY, a couple years in the Middle East (Cairo & Lebanon), 8 years back on Cape Cod running Sounding Still Wellness and now I am currently living in Boston teaching at a private school in Weston.
The reality and pain of white privilege and colonization is everywhere, and we are in a time now with great opportunity to educate ourselves, so we can begin talking and acting in public, as well as privately, with more intention, awareness and transformational love.
I could not be more happy to sing and be among artists who are asking questions and creating conversations right here in my home village of Barnstable.
10 years ago I was flying to Lebanon to teach music at the American Community School in Beirut. It was 2010 and I am pretty sure the apartment I lived in during that time has been blown up. My heart is with the Lebanese people and all helping to support them in this moment. I remember singing Better Me at a school talent show and a student coming up to me and saying, why are you a teacher? Why are you not a famous singer? I left Beirut 3 months later and recommitted my life to why I am here. That led to the 2012 release of Isn’t it Amazing?
Now here I am in Boston, MA stepping into a new teaching position at The Meadowbrook School of Weston in the middle of a global pandemic and the cultural pandemic (and hopefully transformation and reparation) of systemic racism. Full circle for this little human being, I must admit.
If there is one thing I know now on the eve of my 49th birthday, I was born to be a teacher and my students are here to awaken me.
In September of 2001, I was living in Brooklyn, NY and was working on the 16th floor of Rockefeller Center as a temp when two planes hit the World Trade Center. This past March, as COVID took NYC by storm, I was in Boston, MA remembering that time vividly.
2020 has taught me time is a spiral, everything is energy and when in doubt, I choose love. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
May 17, 2020 – the one year anniversary of my release of 12 Rebirth. Thank you to all who helped this record become a reality! Get the Music
What a powerful time we are living in and the songs on the album feel even more relevant. If you have listened to the album in it’s entirety in order, I highly recommend it. Listen Here
Here is a Video of me singing Harmony last year in Brooklyn, NY
Love you all.
May All Beings in All the Worlds Be Happy and Free!
I am so grateful for so much. I am healthy. I have a place to live. I meditate. I have many people in my life who love me, even if I am currently living alone and I have a bit of income that is somewhat stable.
I am beyond grateful that I sing and make music.
This is one of the things I am most grateful for, almost like my whole life has been lived for this moment right now.
Here are some of the daily practices I have been choosing during this time to keep myself well and balanced:
Be MORE gentle – with myself and others
Forgive – myself and others
Drink tons of water – more than I think necessary
Move my body – be creative in how to do this
Eat vegetables – along with all that ice cream and chips and bread
Call someone I can be my full self with and be honest about how I am feeling on every level.
Sing, create, trust, play
I am offering many services online from my own little corner of the world. Please consider reaching out in anyway I might serve.
Join me on Facebook where I am doing Family Music on Thursday mornings at 10am. There are also multiple videos from week 1-4 of both family music and chanting.
And, listen to my music often. It has incredible healing energy in it to both help you transform fear, anxiety and loss, as well as peaceful energy to help you sleep and stay strong and well.
And if you missed A Prayer for the Earth, which my friend Vivienne Gerard and I released for free on youtube a year ago, NOW might be a great time to tune in. It was recorded spontaneously at Dreamland Studios, when I was recording 12 Rebirth and it feels right to remind folks of it today.
I will be releasing a NEW CHANT on Wednesday 4/22/2020. Stay Tuned!
It’s hard to believe it is already February 5. How is everyone doing out there?
I have had a lot of shifts since the final 6 weeks of 2019 and I could not be more grateful for where I am and all the new music I feel is coming.
I would love to hear how 12 Rebirth is resonating for you. To be honest, I am still processing what an incredible experience it was to make that collection of songs at the level I did and I have a desire to make videos for each and every song. Here is the teaser video if you never saw it
I would love to hear from you if you have a song that you really want to see a video for first. I would also love to hear from you if you make music videos and would like to help me make mine really well on a very low budget. 😉
On a practical level, I am now basing myself in Boston which is really fun! I have taken a music teaching job at a Montessori school in Newton and am having so much fun. It’s a maternity leave position and will wrap up in mid-April.
I am currently making plans for new music to be recorded and released this spring, and I am also leading an incredible retreat/travel tour for women in Ireland that includes chanting and music/sound healing. I am so excited!!
We have one room left open – for a couple or single, so if you feel called, check out the details here. It is from May 4-11 and is co-led with my friend and colleague Jenny Wood.
I know there is a lot happening in our world right now that may be creating a sense of unknown and/or apprehension for us all. I will say, though, that I am feeling a deep peace inside and it is inspiring me to make more music and create more opportunities for others to transform, heal and play.
I can’t wait to share some new offerings with you in the Spring.
The music I have made over the last decade is a great tool if you are moving through loss, difficult emotions, stress or just a regular old day. I encourage you to follow me on Spotify, share my music, and it you want to send me some money to say you value the vibration I hold on the planet, I welcome that.
The way music goes these days, unless you are touring or selling lots of merchandise, your income does not come from people listening to your music on the many platforms that are now available and so I am working on how to make a sustainable living and keep singing and recording music.
This comes from a recent webinar I took with Michael Elsner about the reality of income from music streaming. I found it really enlightening.
The good news is lots of people are listening to my music and I am beyond grateful for that. It inspires me to make more and more music and sing for more and more people in service of my own peace, joy and awakening and the peace, harmony and awakening of us all!
I look forward to playing live for you soon!
In honor of the life and teachings of MLK jr. and the many in our world who are working towards a Humanity that is more just, peaceful, fair, and equal enjoy my song from 2016 Freedom is an Inside Job.
